RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO FIGURE 12-3: PLANNED PARKWAY ROADS, OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN
City Council Resolution (Comprehensive Plan amendment)
The Big Lake City Council adopted a resolution on May 22, 2024, approving an amendment to Figure 12-3 (Planned Parkway Roads) of the City's Comprehensive Plan Transportation Plan. The resolution follows a Parkway Feasibility Study completed in October 2023, a Planning Commission review and public hearing, and removes the planned parkways located north of Highway 10. The Council cited concerns about financing and the difficulty of retrofitting existing roads when finding those north-of-Highway-10 parkways infeasible.

Public hearing notice — easement vacation
The Big Lake City Council will hold a public hearing to consider vacating a drainage and utility easement between two lots in the Jefferson Center additions. The easement vacation is to allow a lot line adjustment. The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at or about 6:30 p.m. in the Big Lake City Hall Council Chambers (160 Lake Street North). Applicants/owners and property details are listed in the notice. People who want to be heard may attend the meeting or send written comments to the city before the hearing.
