ACCOUNT DELETION

Delete your Praveta account.

You can delete your Praveta account at any time. This page explains how deletion works and exactly what happens to information connected to your account. Deleting your account cannot be undone.

How to delete your account

  1. 1

    Sign in to Praveta

Deletion has to be requested from the account itself, so you need to sign in first.

  2. 2

    Open Profile, then Delete account

Go to your Profile and choose the account deletion option, or go directly to the deletion page linked below.

  3. 3

    Confirm it is you

You will be asked to enter your current password and to type DELETE to confirm. This protects your account from being deleted by someone else using your device.

  4. 4

    Your account is deleted

Once confirmed, your account and the account information listed below are removed and you are signed out.

If you are not signed in, the deletion page will ask you to sign in and then return you to it.

What is deleted

  • Your Praveta account and sign-in credentials
  • Your profile, including your username and display name
  • Your saved ZIP code and civic location
  • Bills, representatives, and topics you follow
  • Your notification preferences
  • Any device registrations used for notifications

What remains, and why

Community poll responses become anonymous

Poll responses are not deleted. They are disconnected from your account so aggregate results stay accurate, and they can no longer be traced back to you through your account.

Public government information is unaffected

Legislation, recorded votes, representative records, and published local government information are public records. They are not personal data and are not removed.

Public-sector access requests are anonymized

If you ever requested public-sector publishing access, that request record is kept for organization review history, but your name, job title, email, phone number, and account link are removed from it.

Information stored in your own browser

Display preferences and recent Ask Praveta conversations are stored in your browser. Signing out and clearing your browser storage for this site removes them from that device.

If deletion is blocked

For safety, Praveta will not delete an account that is the last remaining Praveta platform administrator, or the only active administrator of a participating public organization. If that applies to you, Praveta will tell you when you try to delete, and another administrator must be assigned first.
